First sell at a loss. COSCO CAPITAL, INC. (COSCO)

I bought 700 shares of COSCO CAPITAL, INC. (COSCO) back on June 30, 2014 for 9.71/share not knowing I will foolishly sell it at 7.47/share.

Yes, that is around 24.056% loss including broker commissions and taxes.

Using my ever useful buying and selling preview on Microsoft Excel you can easily see that ₱1,640.75 just went out of my portfolio.

Oh COSCO, I should have known that you are going to COST me.

The table below is from a website when to sell a stock

50%100%
60%150%

The table above indicates that I should have to gain somewhere in the middle of 25.0%  or  42.86% to breakeven. I didn't have a reason to sell it other than to preserve my capital.
Looking at hindsight, I shouldn't have sold it. I think this will go down as one of my worst newbie blunders.

Hindsight is better than foresight!

Nearly in every aspect, hindsight is always better than foresight.

Remember when I first sold a stock?

See it here: Sold a stock for the first time!

Well to give you a brief recollection on that, it was March 3, 2014 when I bought 700 shares of BLOOM at 9/share and on March 7, 2014 I sold it for only  9.66/share giving me a net profit of around ₱259.

₱259. Really?

This day, October 22, 2014, BLOOM is the 2nd hottest I mean 2nd most active (2nd most traded) stock in Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE). Look below.

Behind TEL, BLOOM is the most traded stock in PSE in terms of value for the day of October 22, 2014.

Have I waited for the price of BLOOM to be as high as today, I would have amassed around 59% in profit.

I made a buying and selling preview on Microsoft Excel which I use to tinker on stocks, like experimenting and speculating.

As compared to when I sold it on March 7, 2014.

I should wear a sad face now right?

But wait, being a positive person that I am.

I see this is not a failure.

This is growth.
